Weekly Wears: Navy days

It's been quite awhile since I've done an outfit post (my iphone camera shots leave a bit to be desired...), but here's a taste of what I've been wearing this pre-spring season. Dresses, cardigans, tights, and oxfords. Yup, similar to what I wear every season!

Weekly Workwear: Spots & Coral

Bad pictures - the light was terrible and we were in a hurry!

Anyway, on Thanksgiving Eve my family always goes to the same Mexican restaurant and then to an indoor hot springs pool. The service is always slow, someone always gets in trouble at the pool for chucking balls (yes, usually this is the adult men), and we always have a lot of fun.

Unfortunately my aunt passed away this year, so she wasn't there. She is always the life of the party, and the whole tradition was a reminder that she is gone. For Thanksgiving day we went to Cameron's family's celebration. I didn't object to not going to my family's that day because once again, she'd be noticeably gone. It feels like I miss so much by her not being around.
I really love this dress. I got it for cheaps at Target a few months ago, and I love wearing it. It's got sweet turquoise straps. The cardigan was part of a buy one get one for a penny sale at Wet Seal. I'm wearing the plain tee I got for a penny right now!
This is at work earlier in the day. I obviously had cereal for breakfast and was knitting. If you look closely you'll see my label maker, a box full of name tags, and my striped boot slippers that have been under my desk since February. Sometimes my toesies get cold at work, people!

Weekly Workwear: Denim & Stripes

I'm lucky when it comes to my workplace - I can wear almost anything I want. Unless we are having an event or clients are coming in, I can wear jeans, slippers, band shirts, pretty much anything. When I don't feel like dressing up for work, I like to lean toward 'business casual' with colored and dark jeans and simple tops or sweaters. This look is on the casual side for my work attire, but I think it would be appropriate if a client came in by surprise!

I love this striped top! It's from Old Navy but I got it for cheap at a thrift shop. The jeans and boots I've had for at least a year and the jacket I've had since college. I'm not shy about keeping around old clothes unless they're beat up. I never know when I'll have an urge to wear that denim dress with the cute pockets hidden at the back of my closet!

Weekly Workwear - Collars and Patterns

I love this new collared shirt I got. Sheer and airy - I can wear it with almost anything! I wore it like this all day to work, casual and untucked. Bright tank top, simple skirt, patterned tights, and simple flats. On another note, Cameron really needs to mow the lawn one more time!

Just as fun tucked in! I wore it this way when we went out to Chinese for dinner.

Obviously, the modelling part isn't my favorite. I like to wear fun clothes, and I love to share my style. But I'm so much more comfortable BEHIND the lens :)

Good morning! This was before I left for work. I felt like getting a snapshot on my way out the door.

Weekly Workwear: Stripes & Floral Lace

I love this skirt. I think it fits me nicely, shows a lot of leg, and it's striped! It goes so well with just about every top I own, it looks lovely with so many colors!

Top - F21 | Skirt - MNG/JCPenney | Lace Tights - Fred Meyer | Necklace - F21 | Heart Bobby Pin - Modcloth | Earrings - Joseph Brinton | Shoes - Shoe Carnival

On another note - Halloween is getting so close and I haven't started my costume! I'd like to say this isn't like me... but it is. Mostly I just need to find the right outfit, shoes, wig, hat, and body/face paint and I'll be set. Not too much, right?! Time for a trip to the costume shop & some thrift stores!

Weekly Workwear: Spinning and Lace

This year for my birthday I created a couple of wishlists on my favorite sites and set it to my honey. Best decision ever! I used to do this for my mom at Christmas, but I forgot how fun it is to receive something that you really want but is still a surprise! This dress is what Cameron's mom got for me off of my list this summer, and I love it. It falls around my knees (an unusual find at 6' tall), twirls, and fits great. The fabric is thick so you can't tell what I'm wearing under, but not enough to make me look bulky! I was also wearing this dress when Cameron proposed to me :).

These wedges weren't the most steady for spinning in our lumpy back yard (rental house...). On another note, doesn't the grass look pretty good considering two months ago it was all cheat grass? Cameron did a great job of tackling weeds and growing a lawn! It desperately needs a mow in these photos... but that's better than having the animals track cheat grass in all over EVERYTHING. Cheat grass in my robe, on the couch, embedded in the floor - it's pokey.

Weekly Workwear - Embroidery, Stripes, and Sheer

More headless shots of me at work! This would be because I wasn't wearing makeup and didn't feel like having that on the interwebs. Here you are, in all it's work-bathroom-phone-photo glory: Ruffles, Embroidery, Stripes, and Lacy Sheerness!

This is a very blue outfit, I've found I wear blue a little bit more now that I've got my blue diamond engagement ring to accessorize. Also, I'm wearing jeans at work again because we're a relatively casual office. And these ones are super dark!

Striped Shirt - thrifted | Blue Shirt - Modcloth | Necklace - Sage Designs | Bracelet - Portland Saturday Market | Jeans - Rue21 (they were my size and long enough and on super cheap sale! It was like heaven)

In other news, I've been super busy the past week drawing some images for a training video at work and doing all the ordinary everyday work stuff. I'm really proud of how my designs are coming - it should be a great interactive training when it's complete!

Lace, Ruffles, and Spikes, oh my!

Don't you hate it when you feel an illness coming on? I've been feeling that way the past couple of days... I'm hoping I can fight it off with some vitamins and extra rest.

Because of this, I decided that today would be a more casual dress day at work so I wore some jeans and sneakers! These shots were taken at work on my phone, so they're far from the greatest.
