I WANT ALL OF THE RUGS

So I just learned today that Society 6 has rugs. Though I wish I could buy all the cool ones, I'll settle with sharing them here. Then later I can have this nice list to shop from!

My art room is full of pretty pastels, and any (OR ALL) of these would be amazing in there:

1 | 2 | 3 | 4

My entryway could use a nice small rug. I don't want anything too bold for the front door. My husbands office is adjacent and full of muted blues and grays. I think one of these would go nicely:

On another note, I need this more than I need to breathe:

Weekly Wants: Dressy dreams

I've been 'window' shopping a lot lately. More than house shopping! It is nearly fall, which I love, and I'm ready for lots of new clothes. Alas... I need to spend almost no money on clothes right now while we save toward a down payment. So I will continue window shopping. Here are some dresses I'm really coveting right now.

| 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 |

My body really looks best in fit & flare and shift dresses. Luckily they always make such cute ones! 2 and 3 are probably too short, but otherwise these would be great for work! I think 4 and 6 are my favorites for right now, but 5 (though covered in candy) makes me feel wintery and I love that.

Wedding Details: Perfect shower outfit

So I've been thinking (obsessing) about I want to wear for wedding related events. My bridal shower has been a topic of discussion lately... for various strange reasons (apparently my FMIL is going to throw it for me? She emailed my bridesmaid to tell her she has already started planning it) and I know I wanna look pretty. So I did what any normal girl would do... virtual shopping spree!

I went window shopping at Modcloth and picked out an entire outfit. I would love to wear this to my shower!

Dress - $89.99
Cardigan - $34.99
Shoes - $62.99
Bag -  $189.99
Necklace - $13.99
Bracelet - $12.99
Earrings - $9.99
Sunnies - $11.99

Total for all - $426.92... a bit much for one day? Well, yes, that's why this is just for fun! I can at least use this as a starting point for the look I want :)

Weekly Wants: here comes the sun

I haven't put the time into making a wishlist in a few months. I just haven't been up for carefully organizing all the images into a pretty graphic lately. So here's a list!

It's been above freezing for the past three or so days here, so I'm really beginning to get prematurely excited for warm weather: clothes, boating, weddings, bonfires, bbqs, bike rides, so much warm weather fun! Here are a few items I've been coveting this week:

These dresses are so pretty! (left | right)

I've been eying a new high-waisted swimsuit for waaaay too long. Gimme! (left | right)

And it's not sprint without fun accessories! Pretty sunnies and flowery sneakers (left | right)

Kaelah has a giveaway this month for a Kitchenaid mixer! And I've been stalking these lovely mixers online for years. I love to bake, but I haven't been able to justify the price with a wedding coming up.

Saturday Shoe - Loafin' Around

Loafers are pretty much my go-to shoe for day to day wear. I'm wearing black loafers now! They're just so convenient, and I can wear them with socks to keep my tootsies warm. The color of these is to die for! I have a hard time finding pretty orange things (and I adore tangerine), but these are a definite win!

Saturday Shoe - Red Laces

Lace up heels are great! I think that these red Irregular Choice heels would look great if you got a couple different colored ribbons to change out with your mood! White laces, black laces, patterns... yellow laces for a hotdog cookout!

Saturday Shoe - Gray Love

So I love oxfords. I love gray. and I love Le Bunny Bleu. This shoe just has so much going for it! Look at how beautifully it's tooled, gorgeous designs and great tassels! Le sigh. It's sold out in my size :(

Saturday Shoe - Speedy Lady

This is the most amazing pair of heeled oxfords. Jeffrey Campbell, you get me every time! I love how they look like you're just standing on your toes or in the midst of a casual jog. I would love to snag these lovelies!

Holiday dress list!

I have been admiring pretty holiday frocks for weeks! I want to throw a fancy party just to have a reason to get one. I just can't justify one for just a family get-together where I would be the only one really dressed up. This never stops me from dressing up, but it may stop me from splurging on something shiny and new for the occasion.

This doesn't stop me from looking... so I've created a dress list for my fantasy holiday party. Maybe one will RSVP after all?

Getting into the Spooky Season

I LOVE Halloween. No, really, it's my favorite. I love the decorations, pumpkin carving, pumpkin baking, candy corn, and most of all - making my Halloween costume!

I like to get into the season... at the same time, I want to feel festive and appropriate. I don't want to wear a jack-o-lantern on my chest, but I want to make sure everyone around me knows it's almost Halloween!

Here are a few simple accessories that don't scream 'October/Halloween,' but do have a certain 'feeling' that remind me of the season. My favorite thing about these pieces is that they could be worn throughout the rest of the year as well!

1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - & bonus kitty print dress (not pictured)

I want to wear this cat ring everyday, all year long! But in October, it will have a special meaning - reminding everyone not to cross you because you've got your own personal black cat! I feel like each of these items really represents this holiday season without going overboard and too costume-y. I really like the bone earrings because they aren't actual bone - in my mind this finish makes them more versatile. These candy corn colored mittens are adorable! I love orange and yellow, and it doesn't scream 'October' so you can keep your paws toasty all winter in these babies.

And can we talk about this Dear Creatures dress? It probably wouldn't even remind me so much of Halloween if it wasn't almost here - but it is, and it does, and it's beautiful. The pleated shoulder, the cute collar and front detailing... I would wear this everyday this October. And for a kitty dress that's more versatile, click on the bonus dress link for a black and white adorable number!

Anyone else have a crush on some cute seasonal items?

Autumn Satchels

I'm going to be straight with you here - I'm all over this satchel situation. I love mine! I want a satchel for every outfit in every size imaginable. They just feel so perfect for fall... especially the leather bags.
Here's a few that have caught my eye recently:

1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8
I adore the leather work in the first satchel. It's so small though, I don't know if I could hold anything in that tiny bag! I can't get enough of leather, mixed textures, and bold prints. And as you can see I'm still in my neutral&jewel tone brights (I'm gonna count turquoise...) phase.

Weekend Obsession - LWD

I love white. I think the obsession has grown since I got engaged... and now I can't help but scanning online sites for the perfect white dresses for events that won't happen for months (bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, etc)! But white really does look great all year long and its so versatile.

The best thing about a white dress, is just like a black dress, its a blank slate for accessorizing!
Bright colors, neutrals, scarves, tights, jewelry, it all goes! Here are a few of my favorite little white dresses and accessories at the moment.

Dancing in September

I'm so excited for fall! As you can see, I'm feeling neutrals and bold jewel tones this season. I love layering sweaters, cardigans, tights, longer skirts, shorts, scarves...  although summer weather is my favorite - I much prefer warmer clothing.

I can't wait to pick up some new sweaters and jackets when the temperature starts dropping - there will definitely be a coat closet purge soon to make more room! Long coats are my favorite, so the camel coat from chicwish (9) is at the top of my list.
